A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DENYING THE APPEAL
OF HEIGHT VARIATION NO. 573 THEREBY DENYING
THE PROJECT AT 27412_ ELMBRIDGE.
WHEREAS, the Director of Environmental Services denied a
Height Variation No. 573 for a second story addition located at
27421 Elmbridge; and
WHEREAS, on May 5, 1989, the applicants Mike and Karen Neuman
filed an appeal with the Planning Commission within 15 days of the
decision of the Director of Environmental Services; and
WHEREAS, on October 24, 1989, the Planning Commission
heard the appeal at which time all interested parties were given
an opportunity to be heard and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The proposed structure is not designed and
situated in such a manner as to minimize view obstruction from the
primary viewing area of adjacent properties.
Section 2: View impairment for the portion of the proposed
addition over sixteen feet high does significantly impair the
primary view of the distant mountains from the residences located
at 27413 and 27419 Elmbridge from their living rooms which were
established as primary viewing areas.
Section 3: That after consideration of the appeal of Height
Variation No. 573 on October 24, 1989, the Planning Commission
denied the appeal, thereby denying the project at 27421 Elmbridge.
PASSED, APPROVED, ADOPTED on this 24th day of October, 1989.
