RESOLUTION NO 89-37 i A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES SUSTAINING THE APPEAL OF HEIGHT VARIATION NO. 596 THEREBY DENYING THE PROJECT AT 2022 MENDON DRIVE. WHEREAS, on March 14, 1989, the Director of Environmental Services approved Height Variation No. 596 for a second story addition located at 2022 Mendon Drive; and WHEREAS, on March 24, 1989, Marijan and Mary Pericich filed an appeal to the Planning Commission within 15 days of the decision of the Director of Environmental Services; and WHEREAS, on May 23rd and June 27, 1989, the Planning Commission considered the appeal of Height Variation No. 596 at which time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and present evidence. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The proposed structure is not designed and situated in such a manner as to minimize view obstruction, as a redesign which would move the addition over the garage and towards the front of the existing house would minimize obstruction. Section 2: View impairment for the portion of the proposed addition over sixteen feet high does significantly impair the primary view from 2026 Mendon Drive which was identified as having a view as set forth in the City's Development Code. Section 3: That after consideration of the appeal of Height Variation No. 596 on May 23 and June 27, 1989, the Planning Commission sustained the appeal, thereby denying the project at 2022 Mendon Drive.
