A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DENYING CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT NO. 145 AND ISSUING A FINAL NEGATIVE
DECLARATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT NO . 571
AT 6958 ALTA VISTA.
WHEREAS , Jaechul Yoon has requested a Conditional Use
Permit to allow existing tennis court lighting at 6958 Alta
Vista.
WHEREAS , after notice pursuant to the City ' s Development
Code , a public hearing was held on June 27 , 1989 , at which
time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be
heard and present evidence .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 : That the site for the tennis court lights is
not adequate in size and shape to accommodate said use since
the vacant lot adjacent to the subject property is within
five ( 5 ) feet of the light fixtures .
Section 2 : That granting the Conditional Use Permit for
the tennis court lights will cause significant adverse
effects on adjacent properties since the illumination of the
lights spill onto said properties .
Section 3 : That the granting of the Conditional Use
Permit is contrary to the General Plan since the lights are
excessive and are not in keeping with the rural atmosphere of
the neighborhood.
Section 4 : For the foregoing reasons , the Planning
Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby denies
Conditional Use Permit No . 145 for tennis court lights to
protect the public health, safety and general welfare .
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 27th day of June , 1989 .
