RESOLUTION P.C. NO . 87 - 34
RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING GRADING
APPLICATION NO. 1013 .
WHEREAS , Mr. and Mrs . Bill Dwyer have requested a
Grading Application to allow an existing three foot cut into
an extreme (67%) slope for a treehouse/office and deck at
3333 Palos Verdes Drive West .
WHEREAS , after notice pursuant to the City ' s Development
Code , a hearing was held on July 14 , 1987 , at which time all
interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and
present evidence .
NOW, THEREFORE , THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 : That the existing three foot cut is not
contrary to the intent of the Grading Section 17 .50.070 of
the City' s Development Code since it does not cause any
negative impact on the public health, safety and general
welfare .
Section 2 : That the granting of the Grading Application
will not be contrary to the objectives of the General Plan,
since the cut is only 13 feet long and required only 6 1/2
cubic yards of grading is adequately landscaped and is barely
visible to adjacent properties .
Section 3 : This approval is invalid unless building and
safety approval is obtained . A retaining wall , not to exceed
three feet in height , may be constructed to stabilize the
slope .
Section 4 : The existing vegetation on the slope must be
maintained.
Section 5 : For the foregoing reasons , the Planning
Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves
Grading Application No . 1013 .
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 14th da of July 1987 .
