PC RES 1987-027RESOLUTION P.C. NO. 87 - 27 RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING GRADING APPLICATION NO. 1010. WHEREAS, Arik Abdalian has requested a Grading application to allow a four foot downslope retaining wall in the rear yard in an extreme (100%) slope at 30825 Marne Drive. WHEREAS, after notice pursuant to the City's Development Code, a hearing was held on June 23, 1987, at which time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard and present evidence. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the retaining wall is not contrary to the intent of the Grading Section 17.50.070 of the City's Development Code since it does not cause any negative impact on the public health, safety and general welfare. Section 2: That the granting of the Grading application will not be contrary to the objectives of the General Plan, since it is constructed of a material which matches the existing architecture and will be screened by landscaping. Section 3: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning Commission oftheCity of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves Grading Application No. 1010, subject to the attached conditions marked in Exhibit "A" which are necessary to protect the public health, safety and general welfare of the area. The wall must be stuccoed to match the existing residence. 3. A landscape plan which utilizes drought resistant plant material and a water efficient irrigation system must be reviewed and approved by the Director of Environmental Services prior to issuance of Building permits. 4. The proposed landscaping should screen the view of the retaining wall as well as the existing pool deck. 5. No additional downslope retaining or garden walls are allowed. Resolution P.C.
