A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DENYING
THE APPEAL OF HEIGHT VARIATION NO. 484
THEREBY UPHOLDING STAFF DENIAL OF THE
PROJECT AT 27102 DIAMONDHEAD LANE.
WHEREAS, the Director of Environmental Services denied
Height Variation No. 484 for a second story addition located
at 27102 Diamondhead Lane; and
WHEREAS, on April 21, 1987, Gus and Verena Roosli filed
an appeal with the Planning Commission within 15 days of the
decision of the Director of Environmental Services; and
WHEREAS, on June 9, 1987, the Planning Commission heard
the appeal at which time all interested parties were given an
opportunity to be heard and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the proposed addition is not designed
and situated in such a manner as to minimize view obstruction
since any increase in the existing ridgeline of the main
house impairs a primary view.
Section 2: That any view impairment for the portion of
the proposed addition over sixteen feet high does
significantly impair the primary view from the two properties
south of the subject lot which were identified as having a
view over the subject parcel as set forth in the City's
Development Code.
Section 3: That there may be significant cumulative
impact caused by granting the application.
Section 4: That after consideration of the appeal of
Height Variation No. 484'on June 9, 1987, the Planning
Commission denied the appeal and thereby upheld staff denial
of the project at 27102 Diamondhead Lane.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED on June 23, 1987.
