A RESOLUTION OF ,THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES RECOMMENDING TO THE
CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF SPECIFIC PLAN III AND
ADOPTION OF THE FINAL NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT NO. 492
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing
on this matter on July 29, August 12, and August 26, 1986 at which
time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard
and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Planning Commission has reviewed and considered
the initial study for Environmental Assessment No. 492 in reaching
its decision to recommend approval of Specific Plan III. Further,
the Planning Commission finds that the approval of this plan will
not result in any significant adverse environmental impact; therefore
a Final Negative Declaration should be issued.
Section 2: The Planning Commission finds that Specific
Plan III is consistent with the General Plan.
Section 3: The Planning Commission finds that this Specific
Plan is necessary to establish development standards for this area
along Western Avenue, 29505-29701 Western Avenue.
Section 4: For the foregoing reasons the Planning Commission
of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby recommends approval of a Final Negative
Declaration and Specific Plan III, as revis- - .

NEGATIVE DECLARATION

FOR: SPECIFIC PLAN III
Application has been filed with the City of Rancho Palos Verdes for appro-
val of the project known as Specific Plan III
to be located at 29505 to 29701 Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes
and be implemented

by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes
The project is briefly described as: A specific plan to guide the redevelopment
and renovation of commercial development.
Pursuant to the authority and criteria contained in the California Environ-
mental Quality Act and the Environmental Impact Report Guidelines of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes, the Lead Agency has analyzed the project and
determined that the project will not have a significant impact on the
environment. Based on this finding, the Lead Agency prepared this NEGATIVE
DECLARATION.

A copy of the Initial Study, documenting reasons to support the finding , is
attached. 'Mitigation measures , if any, included in the project to avoid
potentially significant effects. are:

A period of ten (10 ) days from the date of publication of this NEGATIVE
DECLARATION will be provided to enable public review of the project speci-
fications , the Initial Study and this document prior to the final adoption
of the NEGATIVE DECLARATION by the Lead Agency. A copy of the project spe-
cifications is on file in the offices of the Enviornmental Services Depart-
