A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES GRANTING A CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT FOR A PORTABLE CLASSROOM STRUCTURE IN
CONJUNCTION WITH A CHURCH IN AN INSTITUTIONAL
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, St. Paul's Lutheran Church has requested a
conditional use permit for a portable classroom structure in
conjunction with a church at 31290 Palos Verdes Drive West in
an Institutional District; and
WHEREAS, after notice issued pursuant to the provisions
of the City's Development Code, a hearing was held on April 13,
1976, at which time all interested parties were given an oppor-
tunity to be heard and present evidence,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the proposed use is permitted in the
District, subject to the issuance of a conditional use permit.
Section 2: That the site consists of 44,640 square feet
and with the ten foot setback allowed to the side property line
the site is adequate in size and shape to accommodate the use
on a temporary basis.
Section 3: That the site is served by a major arterial,
Palos Verdes Drive West, which is properly designed to carry
the type and quantity of traffic generated by the existing use,
and the additional structure is not expected to generate addi-
tional traffic.
Section 4: That there will be no significant adverse
effect on adjacent property on the permitted use thereof be-
cause the use will be temporary and is presently surrounded by
vacant land.
Section 5: That the use is not contrary to the General
Plan which designates the site for the approved use.
Section 6: For the foregoing reasons, the Planning
Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby grants a
conditional use permit for the use described herein, subject
to the following conditions which are necessary to protect the
public health, safety, and general welfare in the area.
1. The permit shall expire two years from the
date of this resolution.
2. The portable structure shall be removed prior
to expiration of the permit.
