ORD 493 ORDINANCE NO. 493
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
MODIFYING THE PARKING PERMIT PROCEDURES AND AMENDING
THE RANCHO PALOS VERDES MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 10.20.010 of Chapter 10.20 of Title 10 of the Rancho
Palos Verdes Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"10.20.010 Intent and Purpose. The council does now establish a parking
permit procedure whereby parking is limited or prohibited within certain areas of the
City, which are to be defined by resolution of the council. In said areas, general parking
may be restricted or prohibited by resolution of the council except for vehicles with
appropriate permits issued through the City, in which case a vehicle may park for up to
seventy-two hours subject to such additional limitations and restrictions as may be
established by the council. "
Section 2. Section 10.20.020 of Chapter 10.20 of Title 10 of the Rancho
Palos Verdes Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"10.20.020 Generally. Parking permits may be issued for any area in which
parking has been limited or prohibited by a resolution of the council for each vehicle
owned or regularly operated as provided in this chapter. An area that desires restricted
or prohibited parking may apply to the City Council for the imposition of restrictions or
prohibitions by submitting a petition demonstrating support for the proposal, which is
signed by at least 60% of the owners of the properties on the street(s) where the
restrictions will be imposed. "
Section 3. Section 10.20.060 of Chapter 10.20 of Title 10 of the
Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"10.20.060 Application. To obtain a residential parking permit, and guest
parking permits, each bona fide resident must submit a complete application for
Neighborhood Permit Parking, on the form furnished by City along with any additional
documents specified on the Application and the payment of the appropriate parking
permit fee. "
Section 4. Section 10.20.110 of Chapter 10.20 of Title 10 of the Rancho
Palos Verdes Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"10.20.110 Fees - Duplicates.
A. Fees for said permit shall be set by resolution of the City Council.
B. If a permittee loses, surrenders or destroys an unexpired residential
parking permit issued under this chapter for a certain vehicle, the permittee may obtain
another permit for the same vehicle for the unexpired term or a permit for a substituted
vehicle for the unexpired term upon the payment of the fee established by resolution of
the City Council.
C. If a parking permit card issued under this chapter for guest parking is
lost or stolen, a duplicate may be obtained for the unexpired term upon payment of the
fee established by resolution of the City Council."
Section 5. This Ordinance shall go into effect and be in full force and
effect at 12:01 a.m. on the thirty-first (31st) day after its passage.
