AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
AMENDING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE
HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
(TITLE 11, WHICH INCLUDES CHAPTER 6.7 OF DIVISION 20 OF
THE CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE) AND THE PUBLIC
HEALTH LICENSES REGULATIONS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES (DIVISION 1 OF TITLE 8), AND AMENDING THE RANCHO
PALOS VERDES MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 8.04.010 and Section 8.04.020 of Chapter 8.04 of Title 8 of the
Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
8.04.010. Adoption of Los Angeles County Health and Safety Code.
Except as hereinafter provided, Title 11, entitled "Health and Safety", of the Los
Angeles County Code, as amended and in effect on September 1, 1998, is hereby
adopted by reference as the Health Code of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and may
be cited as such.
A copy of the County Health and Safety Code has been deposited in the office of
the City Clerk and shall be at all times maintained by the City Clerk for use and
examination by the public.
8.04.020. Conflict.
In the event that any conflict or ambiguities arise between the provisions of the
Health and Safety Code adopted in Section 8.04.010 and any other provisions of this
Code, the other provisions of this Code shall prevail.
Section 2. Title 8 of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding new Chapter 8.32, to read as follows:
8.32.010. Adoption of Los Angeles County Public Health Licenses Regulations.
Except as hereinafter provided, Division 1, entitled "Public Health Licenses", of
Title 8, of the Los Angeles County Code, as amended and in effect on September 1,
1998, is hereby adopted by reference as the Public Health Licenses Regulations of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes and may be cited as such.
A copy of the County Public Health Licenses Regulations (Division 1 of Title 8 of
the Los Angeles County Code) has been deposited in the office of the City Clerk and
shall be at all times maintained by the City Clerk for use and examination by the public.
8.32.020. Conflict.
In the event that any conflict or ambiguities arise between the provisions of the
Public Health Licenses Regulations adopted in Section 8.32.010 and any other
provisions of this Code, the other provisions of this Code shall prevail.
8.32.030. Violations and Penalty.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a
misdemeanor and shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day
or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is
committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction thereof is punishable as
provided in Section 1.08.010A of this Code.
Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, portion, or phrase of this
Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a decision of any
court of any competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, portions; or phrases of this
Ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this Ordinance
and each and every section, subsection, sentence, clause, portion, or phrase without
regard to whether any other section, subsection, sentence, clause, portion, or phrase of
the Ordinance were subsequently declared invalid or unconstitutional.
