ORD 306 ORDINANCE NO. 306
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
REGARDING THE PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION OF EMPLOYEES
AND AMENDING THE RANCHO PALOS VERDES MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the current payroll ordinance does not reflect the
payroll procedures being followed by the City, and
WHEREAS, the City ordinance should reflect a bi-weekly payroll
period rather than a semi-monthly payroll period,
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2 . 16. 010 of Chapter 2 . 16 of Title 2 of
the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
2 . 16. 010 Procedures. Payroll warrants for officers and
employees whose compensation has previously been fixed by the city
council need not be audited by the city council prior to payment.
Bi-weekly payroll periods shall end on every other Friday.
Payments are to be made within seven days following the end of each
pay period. Department heads shall certify or approve departmental
payrolls or attendance records for employees in their departments.
The city manager, or his designee, shall certify or approve
payrolls or attendance records of other officers and employees.
