AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES AMENDING CHAPTER 16. 08, CHAPTER 17. 56,
CHAPTER 17. 60 AND CHAPTER 17. 64 OF THE RANCHO
PALOS VERDES MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO LAND
USE APPROVAL CONSISTENCY WITH COUNTY
HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITIES SITING PLANS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 16. 08 of the Rancho Palos Verdes
Municipal Code is amended by adding a new section 16. 08. 040 to
read:
"16. 08. 040 Consistency with Hazardous Waste Management
Plan.
Tentative tract map, parcel map and other
subdivision approvals under this Chapter shall be
consistent with the portions of the County of Los
Angeles Hazardous Waste Management Plan (approved
November 30, 1989) relating to siting and siting
criteria for hazardous waste facilities. Nothing in
this section shall limit either the authority of the
City to attach appropriate conditions to any
subdivision approval or the authority of the City to
establish more stringent planning requirements or
siting criteria than those specified in the County

Hazardous Waste Management Plan. "
2 . Section 17.56. 060 of Chapter 17. 56 of the
Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code is amended by adding a new
paragraph G. to read:
"G. Conditional use permit decisions shall be
consistent with the portions of the County of Los Angeles
Hazardous Waste Management Plan (approved November 30, 1989)
relating to siting and siting criteria for hazardous waste
facilities. Nothing in this section shall limit either the
authority of the City to attach appropriate conditions to any
conditional use permit approval or the authority of the City to
establish more stringent planning requirements or siting criteria
than those specified in the County Hazardous Waste Management
Plan. "
Section 3 . Section 17 . 60. 020 of Chapter 17. 60 of the
Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code is amended by adding a new
paragraph C. to read:

"C. Variance decisions shall be consistent with the
portions of the County of Los Angeles Hazardous Waste Management
Plan (approved November 30, 1989) relating to siting and siting
criteria for hazardous waste facilities. Nothing in this section
shall limit either the authority of the City to attach
appropriate conditions to any variance approval or the authority
of the City to establish more stringent planning requirements or
siting criteria than those specified in the County Hazardous
Waste Management Plan. "
Section 4. Chapter 17 . 64 of the Rancho Palos Verdes
Municipal Code is amended by adding a new Section 17 . 64 . 120 to
read:
17. 64. 120 Consistency with Hazardous Waste Management Plan.
Zone change decisions shall be consistent with the
portions of the County of Los Angeles Hazardous Waste
Management Plan (approved November 30, 1989) relating
to siting and siting criteria for hazardous waste
facilities. Nothing in this section shall limit either
the authority of the City to attach appropriate
conditions to any zone change approval or the
authority of the City to establish more stringent
planning requirements or siting criteria than those
specified in the County Hazardous Waste Management
Plan. "
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of June,
