AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO. 200U AND DECLARING THE
URGENCY THEREOF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Ordinance No. 200U is hereby exended until December 15, 1986.
11/ Section 2: The City of Rancho Palos Verdes recently has adopted General
Plan and Zoning land use designations for the "Eastview" annexation area. In
establishing the Commercial General zoning designation for 29505 thru 29701
South Western Avenue, the City Council determined that a Specific Plan should be
enacted to best address the unique and varying characteristics of this Commer-
cial General zone. Ordinance No. 200U placed the above defined area under a
moratorium prohibiting the acceptance and/or processing of any development ap-
plication involving an addition, expansion or alteration of 500 square feet or
more to an existing structure (excluding interior remodeling) , or for new deve-
lopment. If this Ordinance is not enacted, the property could be developed in a
manner which could cause an immediate threat to the pulic health, safety and
general welfare. This Ordinance will extend the moratorium, will prohibit de-
velopment which would be otherwise contrary to the General Plan, is necessary
for the health, safety and general welfare, shall take effect on January 31 ,
1986, and shall expire on December 15, 1986 unless extended by the City Council
pursuant to Section 65858 of the California Government Code.
