ORD 201 ORDINANCE NO. 201
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
APPROVING CODE AMENDMENT NO. 22 TO CLARIFY THE
LANGUAGE OF SECTION 1 7.34.0 6 0(B) OF THE DEVELOP-
MENT CODE
WHEREAS, the City Council has initiated Code Amendment No. 22; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held public hearings on this matter on
October 22 and November 26, 1985 and has recommended approval in Resolution
P.C. No. 85-33 and
WHEREAS,- the City Council has held a public hearing on this matter on
December 17, 1985, at which -time all interested parties were given an
opportunity to be heard and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council finds that a Final Negative Declaration
should be issued for the Code Amendment since no significant adverse
environmental impacts will result.
Section 2: The City Council finds that the Code Amendment is consis-
tent with and will implement the adopted Coastal Specific Plan and the Gen-
eral Plan, as amended.
Section 3: Section 17.34.060(B) of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal
Code is amended to read:
17.34.060(B) Coastal Setback Zone. The Coastal Setback Zone
comprises an area in which new development is prohibited. Resi-
dential density credit will be granted only for areas proven to
the City's satisfaction to be stable. No new permanent structures
shall be allowed closer than 25 feet to the Coastal Setback Zone.
One minor addition under 250 square feet for which there is no
reasonable alternative location may be made to each residence
which is partially or totally within the zone and was existing as
of December 26, 1975, which addition requires no grading, has no
plumbing, and for which a geology report is approved by the City
Geologist.
