AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES CONCERNING OPENED ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
CONTAINERS AND AMENDING THE RANCHO PALOS
VERDES MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code is amended by
adding a new Chapter 9.20 to Title 9 to read:
Chapter 9.20 - Alcoholic Beverage Containers Adjacent to Off-Sale
Alcoholic Beverage Sales Locations.

9.20.010: Prohibition
9.20.020: Posting of Signs
9.20.030: Penalties
9.20.010: Prohibition: No person having in his or her possession any bottle,
can or other receptacle containing any alcoholic beverage which has
been opened, or the seal broken, on the contents of which have been
partially removed, shall enter, be or remain or the premises, includ-
ing any immediately adjacent parking area or public sidewalk, of any
retail package off-sale alcoholic beverage licensee licensed pursuant
to Division 9 (commencing with Section 23000) of the Business and
Professions Code. The provisions of this Section shall apply to
locations where the prohibitions of this Section are posted and
visible to persons utilizing the establishment and adjacent parking
lot and public sidewalk.
9.20.020: Posting of Signs: Every person owning or operating a retail package
off-sale beverage establishment within the City of Rancho Palos
Verdes licensed pursuant to Division 9 (commencing with Section
23000) of the .Business and Professions Code shall post a notice or
notices visible to the patrons of such establishment and persons
utilizing the adjacent parking area and public sidewalk informing
them it shall be unlawful for any person having in his or her
possession a bottle, can or other receptacle containing any alcoholic
beverage which has been opened, or the seal broken, or the contents
of which have been partially removed to enter, be, or remain on the
premises of the establishment and adjacent parking area and public
sidewalk.
9.20.030: Penalties: Violation of Section 9.20.010 shall constitute an
infraction and violation of Section 9.20.020 shall constitute a
misdemeanor and shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1.08
of this Code.
