ORD 165 ORDINANCE NO. 165
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
RELATING TO THE TERMS OF PLANNING COMMISSION
MEMBERS AND AMENDING THE RANCHO PALOS VERDES
MUNICIPAL CODE .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Sections 2.20.010 and 2.20.050 of Chapter 2.20, Title 2,
are amended o read:
2.20.020. Members. The Planning Commission shall consist of five
members who shall be appointed by the City Council and who shall serve at the
pleasure of the City Council.
The term of office for each commissioner is four years. Two appointments shall
be made at the first regular Council meeting in December 1983 and three
' appointments shall be made at the first regular meeting in December 1985. The
terms of office shall expire on the date of the first regular Council meeting
in December, or until a successor is appointed. The terms of office of the
commissioners currently holding office shall be changed as follows: two terms
currently scheduled to expire in May 1984 shall be scheduled to expire on the -
date of the first Council meeting in December 1983 and one shall be extended to
expire on the date of the first. Council meeting in December 1985; the two terms
scheduled to expire in May 1986 shall be reduced to expire on the date of the
first Council meeting in December 1985. The person holding a term to expire
in May 1984, whose term will be extended, shall be designated by the City
Council.
2.20.060 Organization. The City Council shall appoint the chair-
person. The Planning Commission shall elect a vice-chairperson, from among its
members, at the first oarganization meeting and thereafter at its regular meeting
in December. The Commission may also appoint such other officers as may be
necessary for the administration of its business, at the same time and for like
terms. Said officers shall enter in the duties of their office at the second
regular meeting of December. The Commission shall adopt rules and regulations
for the transaction of its business and shall keep a record of all its minutes,
resolutions, actions, findings and determinations. Minutes, resolutions, and
_ official records shall be filed with the City Clerk.
