AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES ESTABLISHING THE OFFICE OF DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE, DEFINING THE POWERS AND DUTIES
THEREOF AND AMENDING THE RANCHO PALOS VERDES
MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code
is amended by adding Chapter 2. to Title 2 to read:
CHAPTER 2 .32
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
2. 32 010. Director of Finance.
There here is hereby created and established the
office of Director of Finance.
2. 32 .H 020. Transfer of Duties of City Clerk
to the Director of Finance.
A. The powers and duties imposed upon the
City Clerk by Article I of Chapter 4 , Part 2 ,
Division 3, Title 4 of the Government Code of the
State are e hereby transferred to the Director of

Finance in accordance with Section 37209 of the
Government Code. •
B. The financial and accounting powers and
duties imposed upon the City Clerk by Sections 40802
through 40805 of the Government Code of the State
are hereby transferred to the Director of Finance,
as authorized by Section 40805.5 of said Code. •
2. 32 . .
030 Duties of the Director of Finance.
The Director of Finance shall perform
g the follow-
ing accounting and financial duties in addition to
those P rovided for in Section 2.28 .020.
A.
Administration of financial affairs of
the city.
B
Maintain a general accounting system and
records which will accurately reflect the city
financial transactions, and prepare financial
statements and performance reports which will
clearly show the financial condition of the city
includin g revenue, expenses and capital assets.
C. Assure the maintenance of inventory
records of surpluses and control of capital assets
and insure that an annual inventory is maintained.
