ORD 122 ORDINANCE NO. 12.2
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING ZONE
CHANGE NO. 5
WHEREAS, the City has initiated Zone Change No. 5 for properties for-
merly known as the Los Cerros School site and the Tierra Alta School site which
are currently zoned as Institutional (I); and
WHEREAS, on October 2, 1979 the City Council amended the General Plan
Land Use Map to show a designation of Residential 2-4 dwelling units per acre;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has also reviewed this matter on
October 23, 1979 and has recommended approval in Resolution P.C. No. 79- ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing on this matter on
November 20, 1979 at which time all interested parties were given an oppor-
tunity to be heard and present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
DOES HEREBY FIND AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council has reviewed and considered the contents
of Environmental Assessment No. 371 and No. 372 Initial Study and the Negative
Declaration in reaching its decision on Zone Change No. 5 and that this zone
change will not result in a significant environmental effect. Further, the City
Council does hereby certify that all of the requirements pursuant to the Califor-
nia Environmental Quality Act and the City of Rancho Palos Verdes have been met.
Section 2: The City Council has reviewed the adjacent land uses, den-
sities, and the potential impacts on the area and has found that the zone change
is compatible with uses in the immediate area.
Section 3: The City Council finds that the proposed zone change is
consistent with the General Plan (Amendment No. 5).
Section 4: The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby
approves Zone Change No. 5, which changes the zoning designation on the former
Los Cerros School site to Residential Single Family Three units per acre (RS-3)
with an Urban Appearance Overlay Control District over the entire site, and also
changes the zoning designation on the former Tierra Alta School site to Residen-
tial Single Family Four units per acre (RS-4) .
Section 5: The City Council hereby directs the City Clerk to cause
said changes to be made to the Official Zoning Map.
