ORD 098 ORDINANCE NO. 98
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES CONCERNING ANIMAL CON-
TROL AND AMENDING THE RANCHO PALOS
VERDES MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Part 3 of Article III, Chapter 4 of the Rancho Palos Verdes
Municipal Code is amended by adding Sections 3402.14, 3402.15, and 3402.16 to
read:
3402.14 No person owning, keeping, or having custody of any dog or other animal
shall permit, either willfully or through failure to exercise due care
or control, any such dog or animal to commit any nuisance upon any
common thoroughfare, sidewalk, passageway, play area, park, beach, or
other place where people congregate or walk, or upon any public property,
or upon any private property without the express permission of the owner
of said property.
For the purpose of this section, "nuisance" shall mean defecation or
excretion by said animal.
3402.15 No person shall bring onto a beach or into the waters of the Pacific
Ocean adjacent to any beach any cattle, horse, mule, goat, sheep,
swine, dog, cat or other animal of any kind.
3402.16 No person shall permit any animal that is kept or maintained upon
premises owned, occupied, or controlled by such person to emit any
persistent sound, cry, or other noise which disturbs the peace, quiet,
and comfort of any residential neighborhood.
For the purpose of this section, "persistent sound, cry, or other
noise" shall mean any sound, cry, or other noise which is of such
a magnitude as to be obnoxious to a person of reasonable sensitivities.
