ORDINANCE NO. 73
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES,
CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING DISTRICTS AND ADOPTING
AN OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AND AMENDING THE RANCHO
PALOS VERDES MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 1 of Article IX of the Rancho
Palos Verdes Municipal Code is amended by adding Section 9103
thereto to read:
"Section 9103. Districts.
"The City of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, shall
be divided into the following districts:
RA-1
OS
(RA-1)-RM
These districts and the regulations pertaining thereto
are fully set forth in Section 9100 , et sea. of the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes "
Section 2 . Chapter 1 of Article X of the Rancho
Palos Verdes Municipal Code is amended by adding Section 9104
thereto to read:
"Section 9104 . Establishment of Districts; Official
Zoning Map.
"Official Zoning Map. The City is hereby divided
into zones or districts as shown on the Official Zoning
Map which, together with all explanatory matter thereon, is
hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of
this Chapter. All areas within the City shown on said map
are hereby zoned and classified as shown thereon.
"The Official Zoning Map shall be identified by the
signature of the City Clerk and bear the seal of the City
under the following words: 'This is to certify that this is
the Official Zoning Map of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes,
California, ' together with the date of the adoption of this
Ordinance.
"If in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter
and the laws of the State of California changes are made
in district boundaries or other matter portrayed on the
Official Zoning Map, such changes shall be entered on the
Official Zoning Map promptly after an ordinance making the
amendment has been adopted by the City Council with an entry
on the Official Zoning Map as follows: 'On [date] by
Ordinance No. 73 of the City Council the following [change-
changes] [was-were] made on the Official Zoning Map: [brief
description of nature of change] , ' which entry shall be
signed by the City Clerk. No amendment to this Chapter
which involves matter portrayed on the Official Zoning Map
shall become effective until after such change and entry
has been made on such map.
"No change of any nature shall be made in the Official
Zoning Map or matter shown thereon except in conformity
with the procedures set forth in this Chapter. Any
unauthorized change of whatever kind by any person or
persons shall be considered a violation of this Chapter and
punishable as provided by law.
"Regardless of the existence of purported copies of
the Official Zoning Map which may from time to time be made
or published, the Official Zoning Map which shall be located
in the office of the City Clerk shall be the final authority
as to the current zoning status of all areas in the City. "
