ORDINANCE NO. 8
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DESIGNATING
THE PLACE FOR THE OCTOBER 17, 1973 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AND
DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREFOR
WHEREAS, The Ridgecrest Intermediate School is not available to the City
Council meeting; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to the proper government of the City of Rancho
Palos Verdes that the City Council hold its regular meeting for October 17, 1973;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby
ordains as follows:
Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of the Rancho Palos Verdes
Municipal Code to the contrary, the regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes for October 17, 1973 shall take place at the Miraleste
School, 6245 Via Canada, at 7:30 p.m. on that date.
Section 2. The City of Rancho Palos Verdes has just recently been incor-
porated, and its government therefore requires both numerous meetings and full
communication with and participation of the citizens of the City at such meetings.
Unless this Ordinance becomes effective immediately, the City Council of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes will be unable to hold its regular meeting October 17,
1973, and to perform thereat the necessary matters of government required of it.
This Ordinance is therefore necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health and safety, and shall take effect immediately.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 10th day of October, 1973.
