CC RES 1980-051 RESOLUTION NO. 80-51
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES REQUESTING THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
TO CONSOLIDATE THE MIRALESTE RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT SPECIAL
ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
NOVEMBER 4, 1980.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: RESOLUTION NO. 80-51 was adopted by this City Council
on July 1, 1980, calling a special election to be held on November 4, 1980, for
the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the Miraleste Park and
Recreation District, the question of whether said District shall assess each
property owner for the maintenance and beautification of said District.
Section 2: In accordance with Elections Code Section 23302, the
City Council hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County
to consolidate the aforesaid special election with the statewide election to
be held on November 4, 1980.
Section 3: The exact form of the question, as it is to appear on
the ballot shall be:
"Shall each property owner pay an equal share of
expenses associated with the maintenance and
beautification of the Miraleste Recreation and
Park District area in the amount of $50.00 per YES
fiscal year? This assessment is predicated on
the difference between monies made available NO
from the Los Angeles County Tax Board and bud- -
geted expenses."
Section 4: The Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to canvass
the returns of said special municipal election, to declare the results thereof
and to certify the results of the canvass of the returns of said special election
to the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes.
Section 5: The City Clerk shall file certified copies of this
resolution, together with certified copies of Resolution No. 80- 50 with the
Executive Officer of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and with the
County Clerk of Los Angeles County within two (2) days after the date of adoption
of this resolution.
