A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES REQUESTING THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FLOOD
CONTROL DISTRICT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO
ACCEPT ON BEHALF OF SAID DISTRICT A TRANSFER
AND CONVEYANCE OF STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS KNOWN
AS PRIVATE DRAIN NO. 1382 IN THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES FOR FUTURE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE,
REPAIR AND IMPROVEMENT, AND AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER
AND CONVEYANCE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there have been dedicated to, or the City has otherwise acquired
the storm drain improvements and drainage system known as Private Drain No. 1382,
described in Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized and empowered to transfer and convey to the
Los Angeles County Flood Control District any storm drain improvements and
drainage systems for future operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Los Angeles County Flood Control District entered
into an agreement dated March 31, 1981, and recorded April 16, 1981, as Document
Number 81-384580, of the Official Records in the office of the County Recorder for
the County of Los Angeles, whereby the City made certain warranties about its
future transfers and conveyances of Flood Control facilities to the District; and
WHEREAS, the best public interest will be served by transfer and conveyance
of the storm drain improvements and drainage system described in Exhibit A attached
hereto from the City to the Los Angeles County Flood Control District for future
operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City does hereby request the Los Angeles
County Flood Control District to accept the transfer and conveyance of the storm
drain improvements and drainage system described in said Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, subject to the acceptance thereof of the Board
of Supervisors of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, the City Engineer
is directed and ordered to prepare all necessary instruments and documents, in-
cluding deed, to effectuate said transfer and conveyance, and that the Mayor is
authorized and instructed to execute said deed and other instruments and documents.
District shall have no obligation or responsibility to maintain said storm drain,
improvements, and drainage until all rights of way for said drain now vested in the
City and all other necessary rights of way therefore have been conveyed to and
accepted by District.
Reference is hereby made to District Drawings Nos. 2-F367.1 through .4. , the
plans and profile of said storm drain improvements and drainage system on file in
the office of the City Engineer and on file in the office of the Chief Engineer of
said District for further data as to the exact locations, extent, and description
of said storm drain improvements and drainage system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the transfer and conveyance hereby requested are
subject to each of the warranties described in the Agreement between the City and
the District dated March 31, 1981, and recorded April 16, 1981, as Document 81-384580,
of the Official Records in the office of the County Recorder for the County of Los
Angeles. Such warranties by the City are incorporated here by this reference.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.81-54

TRACT NO. 31617 , PRIVATE DRAIN NO. 1382
The construction of the storm drain for Tract No . 31617 has
been inspected by the City Engineer. The work has been completed
in compliance with the plans and specifications and in a manner
satisfactory to the City Engineer.
This storm drain was constructed by the developers of Tract 31617
in accordance with an agreement and the Faithful Performance Bond
on file with the City Clerk. The agreement also provides that
the work shall not be deemed complete until it is approved and
accepted by the City Council .
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOUR COUNCIL :
1 . Approve the work and accept the storm drain in Tract
No. 31617 , known as Private Drain No . 1382 , for public
use.
2 . Cancel the Faithful Performance Bond for the construction
of the storm drain in Tract No . 31617 .

A reinforced concrete pipe storm drain system and appurtenant
structures in Tract No . 31617 , filed in Book 888 , pages 4 to
8 inclusive , of Maps , Records of the County of Los Angeles ,
generally described as follows :
Line "A" :
Commencing from an outlet structure , Station 0+91 , 00 , located
in a variable width storm drain easement , which lies within
Lots 37 , 47 and 48 of said tract ; thence northwesterly and
westerly in said easement to a catch basin in Sea Ridge Circle,
Station 4 + 01 . 14 , a distance of 310 feet , more or less .
Line "B" :
Commencing from a transition structure per Line A, Station
1+20. 50, located in a variable width storm drain easement ,
which lies within Lot 48 of said tract ; thence northeasterly
in said easement to a catch basin in Pacifica Drive , Station
3+46. 67 , a distance of 226 feet , more or less .

3. Adopt the attached resolution for the transfer and
conveyance of the storm drain improvements (Private
Drain No. 1382) to the Los Angeles County Flood
Control District for purposes of operation, main-
tenance , repair and improvements .
4 . Authorize the Mayor of the City to execute the attached
Quitclaim Deed for the easement for Private Drain No. 1382
to the Flood Control District on behalf of the City.
Please instruct the City Clerk to notify Presley of Southern
California, as principal , and The American Insurance Company,
as surety, of the action taken. Also return a copy of this
letter indicating the action taken, the original unrecorded
Quitclaim Deed properly executed, and one (1) certified copy
of the adopted resolution to the City Engineer.
When the transfer of this storm drain facility is approved by
the Board of Supervisors of the Los Angeles County Flood Control
District , it will be operated and maintained by the Flood Control
District for public use.
